Weekly Money Checkup

1. The most I’ve spent this last week was paying our mortgage. It was budgeted for of course but it still hurts when I transfer the money. At least it is less than what we paid in rent when we lived in AZ....we did have access to a nice pool with our apartment though.

2. Today I am thankful for old friends and fun activities. My best friend growing up was on leave from the Navy so we went hiking at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs today.

3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free thing I did last week that made me happy was attend the Bacon Festival and one of our favorite country bands (Reckless Kelly). We had to pay for gas as it was up in the mountains in Keystone, CO but the entertainment was free.

4. I will consider this week a success if I get the invitations for my sisters bridal shower in the mail tomorrow. I planned on getting them out today but hung out with my friend instead.

5. For the 4th of July, I am not sure yet what we are doing that exact day. We have a VERY busy holiday weekend, party Friday, party Saturday, and either Sunday or Monday we are helping an old coworker of my husband (from when we lived in AZ) that is moving to Denver. Somewhere in that mix my other sister is coming so we can practice our cupcake decorating skills preparing for the bridal shower....neither of us is even good at frosting a cake.

We have been SUPER busy lately! Since I got home from hiking I am doing laundry and picking up our house, it is a mess. Maybe after I get things picked up I will do some serious cleaning as the house REALLY needs it! Hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy yourself!
